Our goal is to offer the most attractive possible policies for our books sellers and other retail customers.  Times are dificult. You need profitable products that sell. You don't need products that get outdated and that you have to return.

  • Our titles themselves not only win awards but continue to grow in popularity year after year, printing after printing.
  • In each new edition, we try to improve our value, content, and quality, but we only reprint an edition when the last edition is sold out.

These facts allow us to create a set of policies for retailers and wholesalers that are uniquely generous.

To qualify for Retail Distribution Center (RDC) terms, the following criteria must be met:
1. RDC must function as a pack and re-ship agent to multiple locations.
2. RDC must order case quantities
3. RDC must have separate Ship To account.

 

New Accounts

We open credit accounts for retailers for initial orders of 20 or more books. You only need to provide us your credit references and the ability to verify you validity as a retailer. 

To establish an account, please make a copy of the credit application. When filling out this form, be sure to include three trade references and the name of your bank. Approved accounts are extended credit limits and 90 day terms. To place an order, fill out the order form. Order forms and credit applications can be mailed to the above address or faxed to: 206-546-9756.

To ensure speedy delivery and to establish credit, include payment with your first order. Payment may be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card or company check. All order forms, payments, and related correspondence should be forwarded to the address above.

Returnable and non-returnable accounts cannot be combined.

Washington State Resellers must provide resale number when order is placed.

Credit  Terms

Shipments will be made to all accounts in good credit standing, as determined by the Accounts Receivable Department. A finance charge of 1.5% per month will be added to balances over 90+ days.

STOP Orders

Single Title Order Plan (STOP) requests receive a 30% discount. Please add $5.00 to cover postage and handling. All STOP orders must include payment.

Mail Order Catalogs, Premiums, and Special Sales

Contact our Sales Department for information regarding discounts for corporations, organizations, non-book retailers, and wholesalers, and for mail order catalogs, premiums, and fundraisers.

Shipping Policies

Unless you instruct otherwise, your order will be shipped within three business days by UPS or USPS Priority Mail (delivery 5-10 business days from date of order) Truck size shipments will be shipped within seven days on the common carrier of your choice. Such shipments are all FOB publisher’s shipping point. Unless you provide us with collect routing instructions including your shipping account number, we will pre-pay your freight charges and add them to your invoice. We will bill your motor freight charges separately.

Returns Policy

Clearbridge Publishing offers our resale customers the option of buying books on a returnable basis. In order to return books you’ve purchased, you must establish an account with Clearbridge that allows returns. If your account allows returns, you do not need permission to return Clearbridge products. In order to facilitate returns and insure proper credit to your account, please follow our guidelines and process your return as detailed below.

Requirements: All books must be unmarked and in new, saleable condition. Damaged or shelf worn books will not be accepted. NO credit will be given for books received damaged. Examples of damaged books include: bent corner or spine; bent, crumpled or dirty pages; ink marks and cut marks; glue residue; store stickers, price stickers and security devices; water damage; and other extreme damage.

Credits will not be given to resellers who purchased through distributors, wholesalers or purchased on the basis of a non-return discount schedule.

  • No returns can be made before 90 days or after 18 months from invoice date.
  • Payment in full for the books must have been received.
  • All returns must be packed in cartons weighing less than 30 pounds or in original cases.
  • Books should be packed carefully and horizontally in the box, with sufficient packing material.
  • Stripped cover returns are unacceptable.

The invoice number and date which the books were billed must be provided with the return. Books returned with this information and in saleable condition will be credited with 100% of the invoice price minus shipping. Important, if the invoice number from the original purchase is not provided, credit will be issued at 47% off retail price.

Freight Charges: Freight charges for returning product are the customer’s responsibility. Freight collect shipments will be refused. For your protection, we highly recommend using a traceable shipping method such as UPS or Fed Ex Ground. Clearbridge is not responsible for returns lost in transit.

Overstock Returns:

Products in salable condition are eligible for return after ninety days and up to one year from the date of invoice. We credit returns against future purchase only. We do not issue cash returns.

Claims for Damaged Books:

Claims for defective or damaged product, shortages, non-receipt, and mis-shipments received from the publisher must be received within 60 days of invoice shipping date. Books damaged in transit are not the responsibility of the publisher. Please make a claim with the carrier.

Items Returned in Error:

Items returned in error (e.g.  not our publication) will not receive credit and will be returned at the customers expense.
